Play Equipment Update
17th July 2020
Children's Play Areas now OPEN on Playing Field.
Message from Bredon Parish Council:
Bredon Parish Council are very pleased to announce that the children’s play areas on the playing field is now open. These were closed right at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic and in the main this closure has been fully supported and adhered to by the community.
With the reopening, the Council urges visitors to follow government guidelines and guidance posters at the play areas. If this guidance is ignored the Council may be forced to reclose the play areas.
People still need to stay alert and maintain social distancing, follow hygiene measures and wash hands regularly. To help this process, four gel dispensers are situated at key locations on the playing field. The public toilets also have gel dispensers and paper towels available.
There have been incidents of sporadic littering, especially after groups have met for a social gathering. Please use the litter bins provided, they are currently being emptied 3 times a week by Wychavon, and a big thank you to the local residents who regularly litter pick on the playing field.
HOW WE HELP
It Starts With the Will to Make a Difference
We raise money through fundraising, community grants and our all important 200 CLUB. To help us continue our work please support us by joining our 200 club. The cost is currently £15 a year and we hold a prize draw for all members 6 times a year with prizes up to £50. If you love the playing fields, are a regular user or want to see more community events, please join the club. Find out how to join here.
Bredon Community Play and Recreation have been funding play rangers for Bredon Playing fields for the past couple of years. This year is no different.
We will be having our next Play Ranger days in Summer 2020.
Dates coming soon.
Our Play Ranger activities take place in all weathers and are open access. This means there is no registration. Children are free to come and go as they please. Under 7's are welcome but need to be accompanied by a parent or carer.
Please do spread the word.
Bredon's Big Day Out
Every year we run a big community event called Bredon's Big Day Out. It's a fantastic day that raises money for the playing fields and brings the community together.
PLAYING FIELD MAINTENANCE
We run regular Sunday maintenance sessions at the park to help maintain our beautiful park. We are always looking for more volunteers, so if you can spare time to help out it would be greatly appreciated. Everyone is welcome, no experience necessary and tools will be provided.
