Bredon Parish Mag Update

May 2019 Update

Some of you will have noticed that our gorgeous new benches have arrived! They are situated at the entrance to the playing fields, next to the circular flower bed. These benches have been funded by Bredon Community Play and Recreation and we chose benches, made from 100% recycled plastic, to replace the old wooden ones that unfortunately perished over the winter months. Come take a pew and enjoy the lovely sunny weather that must be on its way!

We enjoyed our first Play Rangers session of the year in the Easter holidays, which was attended by over 100 people. Further Play Ranger dates for your diary are after school sessions (4-6pm) on the 12th, 19th and 26th June. Come along and join the fun!

Preparations are well and truly underway for BREDON'S BIG DAY OUT, which is to be held on Saturday 22nd June. We have lots of NEW ACTIVITIES for 2019 including; ferret racing, junk drumming workshops, gladiator dual and create your own funky festival fashion, as well as all the fun you have enjoyed over the last couple of events with us including; trade stalls, tasty refreshments and a performance from the lovely voices of the children from Bredon Hancock school. We also have two fabulous NEW COMPETITIONS; Bredon's Big Bake Off and Bredon's Big Scarecrow Contest. The Bake off will be judged by our fabulous local WI and will include categories for adults, children and a special ‘Imaginative Showstopper’ category. The winners will be announced during the afternoon and the cakes will then be auctioned in the tea tent, so even if you’re not a baker, you can still get involved and get your hands on a prize winning cake! The star baker in each category will be awarded a special prize. Bredon’s Big Scarecrow Contest is crying out for entries from young and old alike. We’d love to see scarecrows from all walks of life – princesses, aliens, MPs – let your imagination run wild! A fabulous family prize for the winning entry. Both competitions are free to enter but an entry form must be completed in advance. Full details of each competition and entry forms can be found on our fabulous new website. https://www.bredonplayingfields.co.uk. All cakes and scarecrows will need to be brought to the playing fields between 1.30 and 2pm and winners will be announced during the afternoon. Bredon Big Day Out promises to be a fun day for the whole community, with free entry for everyone. We look forward to welcoming you to Bredon Playing Fields on Saturday 22nd June.
