As we head into autumn, it will not have gone unnoticed by some of you that the climbing frame is closed and there are numerous posts missing from the primary play area in the park. This is obviously disappointing for us all, but the climbing frame had to be closed for safety reasons. The primary play area remains open, but extra vigilance is required from parents, guardians and carers as there are gaps in the surrounding fence, which little people could sneak through. Thank goodness this happened at the end of the glorious summer that we have just had! BCPR, in conjunction with Parish Council and its contractors, are working hard to get this repaired and back to the original high standard as quickly as possible and the assessment process has now been completed. It won’t be long before you see work start on the repairs. Regular updates on the progress will be posted on our Facebook page. On a brighter note BCPR are proud to be one of the nominated beneficiaries of Bredon’s Gig to Give, a fabulous local event that provides essential funds for us. There’s an exciting new line up this year, but the price remains unchanged at £15 for early bird tickets, which includes a pig roast or improved vegetarian option. There will three local musicians/bands performing in a transformed village hall. Pop up Gin and Prosecco bars, as well as the village hall bar should provide ample refreshments! You can get your tickets from Dips Spar or contact Martin Miles on 07872049838 or emm4.miles@gmail.com. Event to be held in Bredon Village Hall from 18.45 on Saturday 24th November.
At our last committee meeting, we were reflecting on the Play Ranger days that proved a real success over the summer. We know that these have were very popular with local families, but we are keen to ensure that we provide activities that appeal to all ages and interests. If anyone has any suggestions for things they would like to see held at the park, perhaps exercise classes in the summer or social events, then please get in touch. You can contact us by email on bredonplayingfields@gmail.com, message us through our Facebook page or telephone Claire on 01684 773552. We are due to do another prize draw for our 200 club members in the next few weeks. If you would like to be in with a chance of winning £50, we are always looking for new members. Membership is just £10 a year and is used to help fund activities and maintenance of the playing fields. For further information, or to join up, please contact Ruth Odell on 01684 772114 or email us using the email address above. And finally, whilst it might seem a long way off, the date has been set for the next Bredon’s Big Day Out, which will be held on Saturday 22nd June 2019. Pop it in your diary as it is already shaping up to be a fantastic event!
