November 2018 Update

I'm pleased to announce the winners from our most recent Club 200 draw. The lucky few are; Richard Cowley, Mrs PJ Marshment, Mr JR Burcombe, Debbie Kimmond (all £10), Emma Miles and Pamela Frith (both £25) and Betsy Ebbage and Mrs Price (both £50). Congratulations to you all! We are always on the lookout for new Club 200 members. If you would like to help support our brilliant playing fields, and be in with a chance of winning up to £50 in one of our regular prize draws then please contact Ruth Odell on 01684 772114 or e mail bredonplayingfields@gmail.com. Membership is just £10 a year and is used to help fund activities and essential maintenance of the playing fields. As previously mentioned, BCPR are proud to receive support from Bredon's Gig 2 Give, being held this year on Saturday 24th November. Tickets have been held at £15 and they are looking for a record attendance this year. Their Headliner, The Marc Walby Band (of Chip Shop Boys Fame) are sure to top the night with a magnificent set of covers to finish the evening on a high. Tickets are available from the Bredon Spar or emm4.miles@gmail.com. As many of you will know, the climbing frame is still closed and there are numerous posts missing from the primary play area in the park. BCPR, in conjunction with Parish Council and its contractors, have been working hard to get this repaired and back to the original high standard as quickly as possible. The parts for the climbing frame have been ordered and the play area posts are being replaced imminently. We'd like to thank you all for your ongoing patience and we will continue to post regular updates on our Facebook page. We have recently placed an order for 2 benches to replace the ones by the beautiful flower bed alongside the car park, and have opted for recyled plastic ones to help do our bit for the environment. Hopefully you'll see them in place soon! As always, our maintenance volunteers have been meeting monthly to keep the park looking lovely. They generally meet on the last Sunday morning each month and spend a couple of hours doing a range of tasks, lots of leaf clearing this time of year! If anyone is able to spare a little time to help with this, it would be much appreciated, even if it just for half an hour now and again. You are welcome to bring children along - my 6 year old loves using 'the claw' (litter picker) and it is a great way to teach them that it is rewarding to contibute to the community spaces, which we all enjoy. And finally, it's AGM time again. This will be held at 8pm on the 4th December at Bredon Bowling club. All welcome!
